July 17, 2015 – Recreation and lake water irrigation is restricted on Lakes Fairview, Sarah and Daniel (near Lee Rd. and Hwy. 441) due to algae toxin detected in the water column. Samples collected today by the City of Orlando identified low levels of toxin that should not cause unsafe conditions, however, there is a potential for harm to pets and humans.

The lake water column may appear green and have a “musty” odor. Samples will continue to be collected until the algae bloom subsides and the toxin is no longer detected.

Please call the Environmental Protection Division with questions at (407) 836-1400.
